Hey Nic, nice chatting with you today. I forgot to mention this earlier, but like Larry said, some of the 25' Parkers were and are sold with the 14 degree deadrise which makes for an awesome fishing platform if it's pretty rough but will kill you on the run if it's not pretty calm!!!
The only comes with the 21 degree deadrise With that said I don't know which 25' Parker your buddies friend has but still valuable info none the less. Parker also stopped building the 21' CC with the 21 degree deadrise I think 3 years ago, the 21 degree deadrise is much more expensive on they're boats that have the option, also the 14 degree and even the 17 degree deadrise they offer will be more fuel efficient and get up on plane much faster but one would be sacrificeing a much smoother ride by not chooseing the 21 degree option I was super hung over this morning, I hope I was a little help!!!
New Guy Newbie. I have a 4 sale. This boat has it all and is dialed in PM me or Ali Gato Gordo with any questions Jason I break stuff BD Admin. Deep Vee. Only way to go on rough days besides a catamaran. Dizzole phones ringin' dude. Oct 15, 2, 2 Cypress, Ca. Why would you downsize? Dizzole said:. Click to expand The boat you rode on must have been a Mod-V, I have had two different Deep-V Parkers, and I can do atleast knots in most seas without taking a beating.
Solid boats and the Deep-V's ride sick, in this class, only a cat will ride better, but they have their own other issues. Center Console or pilot house. Pretty easy to figure out. We are looking at the also and I also have the same concern. I asked a guy at the boat show about modV and deepV he told me the 07's are all basically deepV boats.
Is this info true? This is a good thread. I am looking at Parkers now and this is helpful stuff guys. Apr 12, 10, 19 Outside the Orange Curtain Stamper Boat Nope. Yep, nothing like adding an additional foot of tunable hull to your boat.
Use the drop fins too since they are supposed work like wider tabs. I'm still considering adding a PermaTrim to my outdrive. Just more ways to help the ride in the different conditions. This is a great thread, lots of good info. Awesome boat, went out past the breakwater and was really impressed with the ride.
My buddy that went along has a 21' CC Grady and said the same thing. Really nice boat IMO. Zombie said:. Double Z said:. Good to here it. Now you almost know how good my boat rides. Log in. My son and I are considering a pilot house as our next boat. We love that they would offer a dry ride in the cooler seasons, porta-potti for the ladies and additional storage for our gear. We also would like to be able to run further offshore, possibly 30 to 50 miles.
I have researched several brands on the net. Parker's have a 21 degree dead rise as do Steiger Boats. I have read in some forums that a pilot houses with the forward added weight ride like a tank and will knock your fillings out. Anyone have a pilot house that could give us some input. I will definitely test run one before a purchase, just want to get some input from those who either have a pilot house or have been on them.
I also have read that the transom cut outs where the engine mounts can be an issue and that the engines mounted on the brackets are much better.
Thanks in advance for any input on pilot houses. Line Sider. Line Sider Tags: None. Re: Pilot House boats Not sure about the ride qualities of the two boats you listed but I've been on his boat more than a few times! SOLID construction! Nice finish and attention to detail! He ordered it with twin Yamaha 4 strokes. Gets over 2 mph consistantly! A little too steep for me for a 25 footer but hey! At least I get to go fishing on it!
Check out Steiger Craft's web page. My buddy has personally spoken with the owner during the build process and even toured the facility! He was very impressed! Good Luck with your search! It is how the hull surface meets and treats the water. A flat bottom boat has less ability to efficiently channel the water away as it meets the boats hull, whereas a V shaped hull can cut through the water.
Like all aspects of boat design, there is a tradeoff, and it is ultimately a matter of priorities that decide which hull design boat is right for the application.
The deeper the V, the softer the reentry impact; however, the flatter the bottom the more stable. Early on the ideal established for high performance, the V shape, was popularized by C.
Raymond Hunt when designing boats for offshore racing.
